The firm was founded in 2020 by Dickson Ochieng who is a producer, head writer and current CEO. the company has since grown to become a major player in the Kenyan film industry, with a focus on delivering creative, captivating, and engaging productions.

The company's initial name was DICKSON'S ARCHIVES but later changed to simply DARCHIVES, meaning a place full of historic contents that are capable of changing the history of the Kenyan film industry for the best.
